This succulent skewer recipe could just as easily be a flavour-packed curry blend! Not too strong, our recent trial-run of this appetizing starter was an absolute hit. Easy to dazzle up, it'll leave your family or friends knocked flat - it just leaves you cravin' for more! Honestly i now do this at every barbecue and everyone loves it.

This is wonderful meat skewer recipe that just as easily be a curry spice blend! Packed with spices (but not too much), we recently used this as a starter at a barbecue and a barbecue veteran said its better than anything he's ever made! Simple to make, it will blow your family or guests away and will leave you wanting more.

Ingredients

1½ tbsp Spice Pantry Shashlik Spice Blend
1 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp English mustard
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
4 tbsp white vinegar
2 chicken breasts diced large
1 green or red pepper diced into skewer sized squares
2 red onions diced into skewer sized pieces

Let's Prep!

Cut the chicken, pepper and onions into bite size pieces.

Blend 1 ½ tbsp of Spice Pantry Shashlik Spice Blend and all other skewer ingredients into a paste.

Put the diced chicken, peppers and onion into the paste and marinate for 30 minutes or more. Overnight would be great if you have time.

Place onto skewers, alternating the chicken, peppers and onion.
Let's Cook!
Oven Cook

Set oven at 400°f/ 200°c/ 180°c fan/ Gas mark 6

Take the skewers and cook on a tray in the oven for 20-25 minutes turning halfway until the chicken is cooked through.
Air Fryer

Air Fryer at 180°c.

Place your chicken in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes at 180°c, then turn and cook for a further 8-10 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked. If you have a meat thermometer, then the internal temperature should be 165°f/ 74°c.
Stove Top

Once skewers are assembled place them on a slightly oiled griddle pan. Cook for 10-15 minutes turning every 2 minutes to make sure it’s all fully cooked.
Barbecue

Assemble skewers and place on the barbecue, just like the griddle keep turning every 2 minutes until fully cooked.

You can also add our Spice Pantry Curry Roast Potatoes Blend to some potatoes that will send your taste buds through the roof and are a great accompaniment to this dish.
