Unleash bold flavour and crave-worthy textures with this daringly delicious dish.
This amazing spice blend is from West Africa and widely used in Nigeria. The Nigerians love this spice mix on beef skewers which is mainly cooked and sold at night after a few drinks! You could say it’s the English equivalent of a Donner Kebab in that respect! The spice blend will need the addition of crushed/powdered peanuts so be mindful of this if using around nut allergy sufferers. Try it, it’s really unusual. Works well with Chicken, pork and tofu as well!

Ok to be honest i am not sure this works for me but my better half and our friends love it. Its a bit marmite i guess but a worthy inclusion. Buy a small pack would be my advice and give it a go! Personally i prefer it on chicken.

Directions
Let’s Prep
-
Before cooking your steaks, you should tenderize them. Give them a bash. Can be taken straight out of the fridge but some chefs say leave our for half an hour before use. I never do and they are fine.
-
Mix 1 tbsp of Spice Pantry Nigerian Suya Steak Blend and the crushed peanuts with the olive oil. It should be a thickish paste.
-
Cover the Steaks in the mixture, making sure you do both sides.
Let’s cook
Stove top
-
Heat your pan on a medium/high heat and then add oil to it, place your steaks carefully into the pan and cook.

Air fryer
-
Preheat your air fryer for 2 minutes at 200°c, then place your steaks in a single layer.
-
Cook for 6 minutes, turn the steak and cook for another 2 minutes. This will give you rare to medium rare steaks.
-
For medium steaks cook for another 2 minutes, and another 2 for well done.
