Wonderful Mexican spice blend here that works equally as well on pork and chicken. Not too spicy, loads of flavour and we love it!

Directions
Let's Prep!
-
Before cooking your steaks, you should tenderize them. Give them a bash. Can be taken straight out of the fridge but some chefs say leave out for half an hour before use. I never do and they are fine.
-
Mix 1 tbsp of Spice Pantry Mexican Spice Blend with the olive oil and cover your steaks in the mixture. You can leave them to marinate for a few hours but it isn’t essential.
Let's Cook!
Stove Top
-
Heat your pan on a medium/high heat and then a little oil to it. Get it hot but not smoking hot and place your steaks carefully into the pan and cook.
-
Rough guide for steak cooking: 1 minutes each side for blue, 2 minutes each side for rare, 3 minutes each side for medium rare, 4 minutes each side for medium and 5 minutes each side for well done.
-
Leave it to rest. Cover forming a tent with foil and just leave it alone for 5 minutes.
Air Fryer
-
Preheat your air fryer for 2 minutes at 200°c, then place your steaks in a single layer.
-
Cook for 4 minutes, turn the steak and cook for another 4 minutes. This will give you medium cooked steaks.
-
For well done steaks cook for another 2 minutes each side. Temperature varies according to your air fryer so you will need to experiment a bit.
-
Leave it to rest. Cover forming a tent with foil and just leave it alone for 5 minutes.
Serving suggestions
-
Its then good to eat. Add whatever you usually add to your steaks.
-
Wedges with our seasoning and salad in a wrap with a light salad dressing is one of our favourites.
Asparagus in butter with little roast potatoes is another we like.
Sometimes its just seasoned chips and barbecue beans with corn on the cob on the side! You have so many options!
