I love curries and I love burgers! It seemed to make sense to combine the two and it tastes great! Mint mayo and mango chutney add another layer of flavour that we know you will love. Don't buy steak mince for this go for the cheaper 20% fat, it will burn off during the cooking and make the burger lovely and moist.
Its just a different take on the traditional burger and its a real talking point if you have friends over. Give it a go! Can be air fried, oven cooked or shallow fried on the stove. It all sounds a bit weird but honestly it works!

Ingredients
-
2 tbsp Spice Pantry Indian Burger Blend
500g 20% Beef Mince. The higher fat content melts away leaving the burger super moist.
1 Onion sliced
Burger Buns/Brioche buns/Ciabatta rolls or even flatbread
Cucumber, tomatoes, mango chutney and mint yogurt
-
Spice Pantry Chip Seasoning Blend
Directions
Let's Prep!
-
In a bowl, mix the 2 tbsp Spice Pantry Indian Burger Blend to 500g mince beef. Don’t overwork the beef, it does not like it and gets a little solid when cooking.
-
Shape into whatever size you want (we use a burger press), if storing in the fridge or freezer its best to use baking parchment between the burgers to stop them sticking to each other.
Let's Cook!
Oven Cook
-
Place on a wire tray and cook in the oven 180°c for 10 minutes then turn over and cook for a further 10 minutes or until fully cooked through.
Stove Top
-
Pour a little oil in a large frying pan, place on a medium heat. Cook the burger patties in batches, 2-4 minutes each side of the patty depending on how you like your burgers.
Air Fryer
-
Place them on one tray and cook on 180°c for 6-7 minutes. Flip the burgers then continue to cook for another 5 minutes or until they are fully cooked. If you have a meat thermometer, then the internal temperature should be 72°c/ 160°f.
-
Cook the onions while the burger is cooking. Slice how you prefer and cook until golden, Then add ½ tsp of the spice blend to the onions and ramp up the heat for a minute to add an additional layer of flavour.
Enjoy!

Ok lets put this bad boy together.
Burger bun of choice - add a thin layer of mango chutney to the bottom, add your burger, add the onions, add finely sliced and chopped cucumber top with mint yoghurt or mint mayo (just add a little mint sauce to mayo) and your done. Sounds all a bit strange but tastes amazing. It like having a poppadom starter and your curry at the same time!
